SAP IMPLEMENTATION AND ITS IMPACT ON STRATEGY MAKING IN HR DEPARTMENT OF A FIRM: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY
Fast adaptation to the technological innovations is the key mantra ofsuccess in the IT leaded economy today. Companies are striving towardslean management to optimise the resources and human capital usinginformation technology as a tool. SAP is one such software, manycompanies are using, to transform the work place. A preliminary studywas conducted to assess the efficiency of this IT tool in optimisation ofresources in HR department. In this study, it was found that ERP (EnterpriseResource Planning) - SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) implementationin the HR department was associated with managers getting freed(relatively) with mundane implementation activities.
